Welcome on the website of the Center for Advanced Research
in Sleep Medicine (CARSM). In this complete presentation of our facilities and
projects, you will find information about our mission, history,
installations and our clinical and research groups.
To begin with, the history of the CARSM is presented: you are introduced to
the evolution of the Center since its creation in 1977. In this section and the
following, contributions to development of the sleep sciences, the increasing
scope of
research interests, and the clinical and research objectives of the members of
the Center are presented.
In the Clinic section, you have access to an overview of the most common
sleep disorders and are introduced to the clinical team devoted to the
prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of the sleep pathologies that are experienced by our
patients. In order for you to familiarize yourself with our environment, this section
also provides information on our doctors, technical team and installations, and
on how to obtain a clinical consultation.
The Research section features details about our research teams, their
leaders, their scientific themes and interests, and their current
activities and technological advances. A new generation of scientists recently
joined our group of internationally renowned researchers and has enabled even
more enriched
and diversified collaborations. With the establishment of novel, original and
innovative research themes and installation of the latest technologies, the CARSM
is sure to remain in the forefront of progress in sleep research.
On the other pages of our website, you will find information about what types of
participants we need for a variety of sleep and neuroscience studies and
how to participate in ongoing studies, as well as notices about what human
ressources may be needed by our different research teams.
We wish you a very pleasant exploration of our site. Its creation was made
possible by the precious collaboration and continuous efforts of Gaétan
Tremblay, Nadia Gosselin, Dominique St-Pierre, Hélène Blais and
Dominique Petit.
